All Shall Be Well

Angie and Pat are a well-off lesbian couple in their mid-60s and have been living together in Pat’s apartment in Hong Kong for 30 years. Their friends and family accept their relationship, they are surrounded by appreciation and love. However, same-sex marriages are not legal in Hong Kong, and Pat has not drawn up a will. When death strikes unexpectedly, disputes over the funeral and inheritance lead to a rift between Angie and her partner’s family. This marks the beginning of a late emancipation process for Angie, during which she finds support in her family of choice.

All Shall Be Well received the Teddy Award for Best Feature Film at the 2024 Berlinale.
